SUMMARY:TPD Collaborations with Behavioral Health in Our Community with Sgt. Mark Ohnesorge and Tania Woods
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will be a familiarization of the methods and efforts of the Tulsa Police Department to reach out and serve the mentally ill in our community.  Three areas in which the Tulsa Police Department currently serves the mentally ill are: through our extensive network of CIT officers and their continuing training\, the Community Response Team\, and our Community Mental Health officer who works to reintegrate consumers leaving jail and divert them from re-entering the criminal justice system.  By the end of the presentation\, attendees will have an understanding of the Tulsa Police Department’s real world efforts to bridge the gap between police officers and the mentally ill and how effective this model is working for the community. \nTPD MH presentation
