According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 18% of American Adults suffer from an anxiety disorder and nearly 6.7% of adults suffer from major depression. Counselors, clergy, and first-responders are at a higher risk of experiencing secondary trauma and burnout from their careers. Yoga helps individuals by slowing down and staying in the present moment while focusing on the breath. In this presentation participants will learn yoga techniques to assist in decreasing personal anxiety, stress, and blood pressure. These yogic techniques may also assist in increasing job satisfaction, quality of life, and decrease chances of burnout.
