As part of Brookhavens monthly professional seminar series on September 5, 2018 Ric Munoz, JD, MSW will present “Hope Promotion as the Common Factor of All Successful Interventions.”

This presentation will be a guide for mental health professionals who wish to learn how to use hope theory in their therapy sessions. Participants will learn hope theory, including how individual differences in hope are measured using established hope tests.  Ric will present to them an easy poetry therapy model that may be used in their practice, as well as giving them specific poetic tools to use for diagnosis and/or treatment.

Ric Munoz, JD, MSW, is an assistant professor of social work at the University of Oklahoma.  He has dozens of publications and presentations both nationally and internationally. His research published in journals of the American Psychological Association (APA) journal Traumatology, Research on Social Work Practice, and Child Indicators Research. He is also the program evaluator on Federal grants from both the United States Department of Agriculture and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
